Regular hair washing is a part of preventing hair loss by the way of keeping hair and scalp clean. Doing so, you are lowering the risk of infections and dandruff that may lead to hair breakage or loss. Moreover, clean hair gives the impression of more volume.
Scalp biopsy is used when the diagnosis is unsure; a biopsy allows for differing between scarring and nonscarring forms. Hair samples are taken from areas of inflammation, usually around the border of the bald patch.
You can also try this neem pack. Grind and boil neem leaves to a paste and apply it to your scalp after shampooing your hair. Wash it off after 30 minutes. Repeat the process twice in a week and notice the change!
Is there a reason the FDA asked the manufacturers to remove azelaic acid from their products. If it’s beneficial which from what I’ve read I think it will be I was thinking of adding it to the minoxidil but I don’t want to do it if there is a risk to my health.
Alopecia areata is an autoimmune condition in which the body attacks its own hair follicles. Most patients, however, do not have systemic problems and need no medical tests. While alopecia areata is frequently blamed on stress, in fact, it may be the other way around; that is, having alopecia may cause stress.
I have been taking this in pill form for 5 years in addition to a ketoconazole shampoo. I am looking to begin a generic finasteride in addition to generic minoxidil. If I begin taking generic finasteride would you recommend that I continue taking HairOmega DHT blocker or would the Minoxidil topical and ketoconazole shampoo be enough?

Hi. I am a 23 year old man. I used hair wax (BED HEAD For Men by TIGI) in July last year. I was advised by friends to wash it before I sleep. I used it only twice. Once, I washed it before sleeping, and the other time, I delayed washing to four days. Then when I washed my hair I lost hair excessively. It shocked me to see so much hair-loss in my shower. After that, I kept losing hair for the next few months. I thought shaving my head would solve it – I did that twice. But to no avail. The hair loss ceased at one point. Untill this point, I had only been losing hair in an oval pattern on the front and like an army cut on my lower sides. Now the hair loss has returned. I’m losing hair now on the top mainly. What can be the reasons? Is this MPB or caused by the hair wax (in which case is it treatable?) Should I visit a doctor? Thank you.
Minoxidil (loniten) was the first drug approved by the FDA for the treatment of male pattern baldness. For many years, minoxidill, in pill form, was widely used to treat high blood pressure. Just like finasteride researchers discovered a very interesting side effect of the drug. People taking the medication were growing hair in unexpected places like on their cheeks and the back of their hands, some even grew hair on their is the only product I’ve found that actually works. I have been using this for 3 months and my hair is full and rich and looks like it did when I was 25. I am 58 years old and the one this I hate about growing older hair problems like thinning. Then when I got an alopecia bald spot I decided to take action. I tried minoxidil but that caused irritation and breakouts. So, I searched for something more on the natural side and I found this and am I happy I did. I DO NOT have the spot anymore. My hair is back to full again. I recommend this to anyone who wants a beautiful, full head of healthy hair.
Make a honey olive oil hair pack for healthy and strong hair. Mix 2 tablespoons of honey and same amount of olive oil in a small bowl. To this, add a pinch of cinnamon powder. Blend it into a smooth paste and apply onto your hair.
Hair loss in women can be related to genetics, hormones and age. Although this is not the leading cause of hair loss in women, Androgenetic Alopecia is still relevant. It may be a serious medical condition which needs proper attention and treatment as early as possible. The hair loss patterns in women also usually differ compared to male hair loss.
The most common side effects of finasteride use in men include decreased sex drive and sexual function. Other common side effects include dizziness or faintness when getting up from a seated or resting position, chills, and sweats.
If you’re a woman experiencing hair loss, it’s an especially good idea to have your thyroid health evaluated to see if hypothyroidism or hyperthyroidism could be at the root of your hair troubles. Experts concur that the hair on your head is an indicator of your overall health so what you do to improve your overall health can have a direct positive impact on your hair.
Any constant hairstyle that pulls the hair back so there’s pressure at the root — like ponytails or cornrows — can cause traction alopecia, Dr. Senna says. This is more common with Black women, and more than half of African American women will cite hair loss or thinning hair as their number one concern, according to the American Academy of Dermatology. Wearing extensions or wigs that clip in or are glued to existing hair puts more stress on your strands. Other treatments like bleach, dye, relaxers, and perms can weaken your hair. Even tools like a flatiron or curler can reach extremely high temperatures that further fracture your hair.
